Welcome! The ANTLER (Advance Next-generation Technology for Learner and Educator Readiness) Lab is based in the Department of Data Science, School of Computing, at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Our work spans AI + Education (AIEd), human-centered AI, computing education, and educational technology. We build the frameworks, technologies, benchmarks, and pedagogies needed to ensure technology genuinely serves learners and educators alike.

I am recruiting motivated PhD students to join the ANTLER Lab starting Spring/Fall 2027. Applicants with a background in data science, information, computer science, learning sciences, HCI, education, or a related field are encouraged to apply through the Department of Data Science at NJIT.

Prior coursework in AI, programming and/or an interest in education, learning sciences, or HCI is a plus, but what matters most is motivation, curiosity, and commitment: actually reading papers, doing the work, and staying engaged rather than skipping meetings or going silent.
